Marchi V. Lopez-Linus, M.D.
Dr. Lopez is a board certified pediatrician and has been part of Western Wake Pediatrics since 2002. He received both his medical degree and his pediatric specialty education from the UNC at Chapel Hill. Dr. Lopez is multi-lingual, including English, Spanish and Tagalog (a Filipino dialect).
Dr. Lopez is a first generation Filipino-American, born in Queens, NY. He spent half his childhood in New Jersey, and the rest in Puerto Rico, Switzerland, and Venezuela. Dr. Lopez received a B.A. in Psychology from Rutgers University. Previous experience includes preschool education, together with special education for children with autism, and work with children and adolescents at a psychiatric hospital. Community involvement includes the founding of SALSA, an organization created to form a partnership between medical students and clinics assisting Latino patients in underserved communities. Dr. Lopez has had active committee membership for the Departments of Pediatrics at WakeMed and Rex Hospitals and is an Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor for the UNC School of Medicine Department of Pediatrics, with the role of teaching 3rd year medical students.
Dr. Lopez lives in Raleigh with his wife Audrey Krenitsky (the architect who designed the Western Wake Pediatrics office) and his two children, Mila and Luka. In his free time, Dr. Lopez enjoys spending time with his family and friends, his two Y Guide tribes, being outdoors, and mountain biking.
